Community partnership program (cpp)

The Nassau County District Attorney’s Community Partnership Program (CPP) is a community-based resource and referral office that provides social services to the general community but focusing on the re-entry population, young people at risk of or involved with gangs, and other justice-involved individuals. CPP works on the ground in Hempstead, a high-traffic area for gang and gun violence, to promote and carry out the DA’s vision of offering support to the re-entry population and justice-involved individuals in order to reduce recidivism and build a safer community. CPP staff facilitate gang intervention/prevention groups for parolees, probationers, and students at middle and high schools who have gang involvement or are at high risk for involvement. CPP is staffed by Case Managers and Community Engagement Workers familiar with local resources who can help community members with:


  • Medicaid/SNAP applications
  • Health insurance
  • Mental health treatment
  • Substance abuse treatment
  • Job readiness programs
  • Educational and vocational training
